Teleology is the Stoic doctrine that the entire universe and every being within it possesses an inherent purpose (telos). Not as an external constraint, but as the organic fulfillment of one's own nature. The oak fulfills its telos by becoming the perfect oak; a human being fulfills their telos by fully developing their reason and living in accordance with it. This is not blind determinism, but a rational principle that unites movement, development, and completion within a cosmic order.
