Sapientia

Sapientia

Stoic wisdom as the highest virtue and the capacity to distinguish good from bad, and what is within our control from what is not.

Sapientia (Latin from sapere: to taste, to discern, to judge) is, in Stoic philosophy, not merely theoretical erudition but the practical art of living. It forms the foundation of all other cardinal virtues and manifests as the capacity for precise discrimination between what lies within our power and what does not. Sapientia is a living process — wisdom practiced not as a destination, but as a continuous path.
