Recede in te ipse ("Withdraw into yourself") is Seneca's explicit description of the same inner movement the Greeks called Prosoche. It does not mean fleeing the world, but the deliberate redirection of attention from the external to the internal — a regular, repeated inward turn to cleanse the Hegemonikon and free it from the unconscious judgments of the crowd. This practice is not episodic (like meditation), but a continuous inner discipline intended to structure the entire day.
