Orthē Doxa

Orthē Doxa

The correct opinion or right assessment obtained through rational judgment (synkatathesis) that is in accordance with the Logos.

Orthē doxa is the result of a well-considered assent (synkatathesis) to a statement or situation. It differs from blind doxa (belief without examination) in that it is the outcome of critical proskē (attention) and logical scrutiny. In the context of proxenos relationships, orthē doxa enables the correct assessment of another person's moral character, independent of external goods.
