Logikon zōon designates the human being as a living creature endowed by nature with reason (Logos). Zeno of Citium taught that this reason is not merely a cognitive tool, but humanity's very share in the universal, divine Logos itself. This definition grounds Stoic anthropology and makes the unfolding of reason the highest human telos.
