De Tranquillitate Animi (Lat.: 'On the Tranquility of the Soul') is one of Seneca's major works, in which he offers a comprehensive guide to attaining inner peace. The text addresses the problem of restlessness despite outward fulfilment, demonstrating that inner turmoil cannot be resolved through a change of place or of status, but rather through the cultivation of correct beliefs (Doxa) and the distinction between what is within our power and what is not.
